Taiwanese  Culture  Scholarship 台灣文化獎學金

Taiwanese School of Atlanta(TSA) was founded in 1998 as an IRS tax-exempt 501(C) (3) organization. The main goals of TSA are to provide social, cultural and educational services to the greater Atlanta area, and to increase public understanding of Taiwanese cultural heritages. As part of our efforts to serve the community, as well as to encourage qualified students to further pursue higher education, TSA has offered scholarship programs : Taiwanese Culture Scholarship(T.C.S)

The establishment of the Scholarship Program reflects the importance of higher education and community service for young adults. We hope the scholarship will be able to further the ambitions of young adults who make contributions of Taiwanese culture to mainstream America and want to obtain an educational advantage

台美學校是一個在1998年設立，美國國稅局立案、捐款可免稅的機構。台美學校的主要目的是提供亞特蘭大地區社區交流、文化、和教育，以及提高大家對台灣傳統文化的認識。就像我們對社區的服務，我們將提供一個「台灣文化獎學金」給有資格的學生，幫助他們追求更高的教育。

這個獎學金的建立，是要反應高等教育與社區服務對年輕人的重要。我們希望這個獎學金能讓那些貢獻台灣文化給美國主流社會，與有志於得到更進高層教育的年輕人有所幫助。

EVALUATION BASIS:

Applicants are evaluated based on community service , the academic merit, an English essay, and a Chinese essay .

評審標準：社區服務 在校成績 一篇英文作文 一篇中文作文

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

An applicant must:

Be US citizens (or permanent residents)

Be a resident of the Greater Atlanta Area.

Be Junior or Senior of High School Student.

申請資格：具有美國公民或永久居留權，住在亞特蘭大地區十一,十二年級的高中生。

HOW TO APPLY:

Complete the application form( below) and submit it to TSA by May 30 2011.

Send :

1. a complete set of official transcripts from all high schools attended,

2. one letter of recommendation. (From a teacher, counselor or community leaders)

3. Submit an English one-page essay (typewritten, double spaced) 

4. a Chinese one-page essay. 

( Those two essays should describe your experience of performing community service with Taiwanese culture.)  

如何申請：填申請表（在下方）四月20日前寄台美學校, 

1.      一份高中正式成績單   

2.      一封老師、學校顧問或社區領導人的推薦信

3.      一篇有關「你如何以台灣文化來服務社區」中文作文一篇(字數不限)

4.      一篇有關「你如何以台灣文化來服務社區」的英文作文一篇(字數不限)  

IMPORTANT DATE:

May 30  2011:          Application Form due at Scholarship Committee of T.S.A.

April 20  2011:          Deadline for receiving any additional information such as recommendation

letter, academic transcripts,  Chinese essay, English essay.

重要日期：三月30日送申請表. 

四月20日：送推薦信、學校成績單、中文作文英文作文。

Award Notification:

The scholarship recipients will be notified by May 1^th 2011

Recipients and their families were invited to the Taiwanese School of Atlanta for award ceremonies, which were held on May 14  2011

得獎公布：2011年五月1日

頒獎： 2011年五月14日在台美學校台灣會館
