2009 Fall Class Ending Ceremony and Flea Market

December 12, 2009 was Taiwanese School of Atlanta’s last day of school of fall semester. After Chinese classes ended, the school held ending ceremony, end of year dinner and flea market for students to buy presents. Parents prepared delicious Taiwanese and American food and three tables of presents for flea market. After a delicious meal, everyone went back home with a lot of gift and reminded each other school will start on January 9, 2010.

The ending ceremony started with junior drum team. Then the principal made a speech and gave out awards. Taiwanese School of Atlanta considers outside reading as a very important part of students’ Chinese learning processes. Therefore, the school rewards students who borrow and read books from the school’s library.

After the award ceremony, students and parents proceeded to the flea market desk to purchase presents. Each present’s price was written in Chinese, and students must interact with the shopkeepers in Chinese.

The students loved the flea market; some students came in early to see what they wanted to buy. Parents also had fun. The school is planning to hold a flea market every semester.
